Founded on a commitment to faith, compassion, and service, we create pathways through education, healing, and empowerment to help individuals overcome barriers and become who they were created to be.

Every person has gifts, dreams, and purpose. However, many face barriers they did not choose. Cedar et Gazelle Foundation exists to bridge those gaps by creating opportunities that allow individuals to learn, heal, grow, and thrive.

Surprise Olawale
Founder & Executive Director
Surprise Olawale is a visionary leader, humanitarian, and healthcare professional with a passion for creating opportunities that transform lives.
With an MBA in Healthcare and experience across clinical care, healthcare administration, and community service, Surprise understands the importance of access, support, and empowerment in helping individuals reach their full potential.
Growing up and navigating her own journey through challenges, uncertainty, and moments where opportunities were not always guaranteed, Surprise developed a deep compassion for individuals facing difficult circumstances. Her personal experiences shaped her belief that a person's starting point should never determine their destination.
In 2019, guided by her faith in God and a desire to serve others, Surprise founded Cedar et Gazelle Foundation with a vision to create pathways of hope, healing, education, and empowerment for underserved communities. Today, her passion continues to drive the foundation's work — partnering with communities, organizations, and individuals to ensure more people have the opportunity to discover their potential and pursue the future they were created for.

Our Mission

We believe every person is created with unique potential, purpose, and the ability to make a meaningful impact in the world.
However, many individuals face circumstances beyond their control — including limited access to education, resources, support, and opportunities — that can prevent them from reaching their full potential.
Inspired by our faith and the biblical call to serve those in need, Cedar et Gazelle Foundation exists to create pathways that connect individuals and communities with opportunities for growth and transformation.
As stated in Deuteronomy 15:11, we are reminded of the importance of generosity. We believe we are called to use our resources, skills, and partnerships to help create opportunities where individuals can learn, heal, grow, and thrive.

Why Uganda?
Cedar et Gazelle Foundation began its first international education initiative in Uganda because we believe the call to serve extends beyond geographical boundaries.
Although our founder is Nigerian, our mission has always been centered on responding to needs and creating meaningful opportunities wherever we are called to serve.
We Responded to Need
Uganda became the first location of our education program after identifying children who needed access to consistent education, basic support, and an environment where they could learn and grow.
7+ Years of Impact
For over seven years, Cedar et Gazelle has walked alongside vulnerable children by providing educational support, daily necessities, and opportunities that build confidence, knowledge, and hope.
A Long-Term Vision
Our long-term vision extends beyond keeping children in school. We desire to create a complete pathway — supporting children through education, mentorship, skills development, and opportunities that prepare them for independence.

The Cedar
The Cedar tree represents strength, endurance, stability, and growth. A cedar develops deep roots that allow it to stand tall through different seasons.
The Gazelle
The Gazelle represents grace, speed, resilience, and forward movement. A gazelle moves with purpose and agility toward its destination.
Together, Cedar et Gazelle represents our belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to develop a strong foundation, overcome barriers, and move confidently toward their God-given potential.
